Barry Owens
I was born in Marshall, Texas. I grew up, however, in Abilene, Texas, where I graduated from Abilene Cooper High
School and Hardin Simmons University. I went on to receive my Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
My wife Francene and I have been blessed with two wonderful children. Matt, our son, is married to Miranda,
and they now have their first child, Caeden Matthew. Holly, our daughter, is a junior at Pampa High School.
I am now serving First Baptist Church Pampa as Minister of Music. I have been in this capacity since March, 2002.
I have served Baptist churches throughout Texas since 1971.
I have been active in Associational music events. I sing with the Panhandle Singing Men, and am very
active in an auditioned men's choir made up of Ministers of Music from across the United States. This group is called the
Centurymen. I am also involved in several professional organizations.
